  2. A single-site randomized controlled trial comparing the combination of pegylated interferon (Schering Plough) and ribavirin with the standard interferon/ribavirin regimen in 200 Egyptian patients with chronic infections with genotype 4 HCV. (2001 – 2003)

    Evaluation of Protective, Disease-Associated & Theraputic Immunity to Hepatitis C virus Infection.

    This study was designed to carry out immunological evaluations in Egypt to gain a better understanding of the mechanisms of "protective immunity" that enables a person to spontaneously clear acquired infection, "disease-associated immunity" to develop more effective treatment (s) for HCV.
